25th Wedding Anniversay ‘22

I have worked with hundreds of couples at this point whether it’s their wedding, family photos, events…..but this particular couple was extra special. I casually checked my phone for emails as I typically do every hour or so, and in my inbox was a warm greeting from a woman sharing that she found my work on instagram and was looking to have a portrait session commemorating 25 years of marriage. After having a conversation and learning more about Edna and her husband we started planning her session starting with portraits at the art museum and finishing documenting a small vow renewal at the same church and same priest they were married by! The portraits went great as they were easy to capture because of their love for each other. Let’s be honest, unless you’re a model, it’s usually pretty awkward getting your photos done, even for me! After a few jokes and some light chat the couple relaxed more and were easy to direct into flattering poses that showcased their 25 years together. Twenty five! As a married woman of five years I was excited to see that they seemed to still really enjoy being around each other.

After the session we headed downtown to the church they were married at and even replicated some photos from their wedding day! While she wasn’t initially planning on ordering an album, she realized the value of having a hardcopy of images professionally edited and arranged to tell their love story. We also started the album with four original photos from their wedding as a reminder of where they started. Check out her reaction and some of the images below! Again, sometimes as entrepreneurs it can seem as if all of our hard work doesn’t pan out, but being able to see her reaction, was another kind reminder that I’m doing what I’m supposed to be!
